Nurse's Office

We at Fremont County School District #21 are fully committed to the health of our students. Our nurse looks after each student’s physical and mental well-being while on our campus.

Administration of Medication

Certain health problems require that students take medication during school hours. Medication must be kept in the nurse’s office at all times.

Medication must be in its original, properly labeled container. Prescription medication must have the pharmacy label, as this serves as the doctor’s order.

A signed consent form giving specific directions for use must accompany medication from the parent.

Immunization Information

We will notify parents of continuing students by mail if a student needs additional immunizations before the new school year. State law requires students to complete all required immunizations before school starts. We will not allow students who cannot provide proof of required immunizations to attend school or ride the bus on the first day of classes. Please submit immunization updates to the school office.

Screenings

We do hearing and vision screenings annually for all pre-kindergarten, kindergarten, first, third (vision only), fifth, and seventh graders (hearing only), as well as all special education and students new to the district. Tribal Health also partners with our school to provide Child Health Measure screenings which cover height, weight, BMI, and acanthosis screening for all students from pre-kindergarten through grade twelve. We will send home notices of referrals for students who do not pass one or more of these screenings. If you do not want your student to participate in one or all of these screenings, please notify our office at the beginning of the school year.
