Fort Washakie High School and WeAVE is now able to offer a comprehensive online learning readiness assessment. READI is a web-based tool which assesses a learner's likelihood for succeeding in an online learning program. READI indicates the degree to which an individual student possesses attributes, skills and knowledge that contribute to success in online learning, including: Self-motivation Time-management skills Self-discipline On-screen Reading Rate and Recall Persistence Availability of time Ability to use a laptop, printer, software, and the Internet Typing speed and accuracy Reporting - Each student who takes READI receives immediate feedback in the form of an individualized report that shows his/her score for each of the various READI components. The scores are presented in textual and graphical formats. Licensed institutions receive a summative report detailing overall usage, as well as the individual READI scores of their students. View a sample report . If any of our partner districts would like to have a specific account set up for use by their students, please contact Katie Swistowicz for additional info.
FWCHS has met the Academic Indicator for AYP (Annual Yearly Progress) every year for the past 5 years. However, FWCHS did not make meet the Secondary School Additional Indicator for AYP (graduation rate) for two consecutive years now (School Year 06-07 and School Year 07-08). Because of this, we're required to notify and inform all FWCHS and WeAVE students and parents that we are in School Improvement Year 1 status. One of the consequences for School Improvement Year 1 is the option of Public School Choice. This allows for parents to choose to send their student to another school in our district or surrounding district that made AYP. Although this is an option, FWCHS is the only High School within our district and there are no schools in our district or surrounding districts that made AYP to which to send your students, so Public School Choice is unfortunately not an option at this time.
