Reminder to Parents!!
Please remember some key rules to follow throughout the school year:
1. Call in bus passes by @ least 2:00 pm each day.
2. Be sure to call in absences, if your student is going to be gone due to doctor's appointment, funerals, out of town trips, etcs.
PARENTS RIGHT TO KNOW
Public Law 107 – 110, the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001 requires that parents of children in schools receiving Title I funds have a right to know the professional qualifications of their child’s classroom teachers.
The categories of information which may be requested are:
¨ Whether the teacher has met state qualifications and licensing criteria.
¨ Whether the state has waived any licensing or certification criteria such as emergency or provisional status:
§ College Major
§ Degrees
§ Field of discipline
¨ Whether your child is provided services by a paraprofessional and, if so, their qualifications.
QUALIFICATIONS:
¨ At the beginning of each school year, a local educational agency that receives funds under this part (referring to Title I) shall notify the parents of each student attending any school receiving funds under this part (and in a timely manner), information regarding the professional qualifications of the student’s classroom teachers, including at minimum, the following:
o Whether the teacher has met State qualifications and licensing criteria for the grade levels and subject areas in which the teacher provides instruction.
o Whether the teacher is teaching under emergency or other provisional status through which State qualifications or licensing criteria have been waived.
¨ The baccalaureate degree major of the teacher and any other graduate certification or degree held by the teacher, and the field of discipline of the *************. At the beginning of each school year, a local educational agency that receives funds under this part (referring to Title I) shall notify the parents of each student attending any school receiving funds under this part (and in a timely manner), information regarding the professional qualifications of the student’s classroom teachers, including, at a minimum, the following:
¨ Whether the teacher has met State qualifications and licensing criteria for the grade levels and subject areas in which the teacher provides instruction.

¨ Whether the child is provided services by paraprofessionals and, if so, their qualifications.
Additional information:
In addition to the information that parents may request under Qualifications, a school that receives funds under this part shall provide to each individual:
¨ Information of the level of achievement of the parent’s child in each of the State academic assessments as required under this part; and,
¨ Timely notice that the parent’s child has been assigned, or has been taught for four or more consecutive weeks by a teacher who is not highly qualified.
